Pastor Michael Phillips Sermon 2021 I Am Convinced: The sermon by Pastor Michael Philips talks about a conviction from the book of Philippians 1 v 2. Conviction is the certainty, the firm assurance of something.
The pastor talks about the conviction that God is about to do a new thing but we will have to undergo a certain change. According to the pastor, this is what he called the new wineskin process must happen to us if we decide to embrace the change God is bringing to our life.
He further added that holding on to our history will only make us stuck. It is easy to hold on to our preference when we refuse to let go of the past.
Conviction helps us to embrace the change and in between, there is a period (the process) that we learn and grow before the change eventually happens. We cannot embrace change if we keep holding on the history.
Pastor Philips used the story of Paul to elucidate more on this teaching. Paul went through the process and that was when he built a relationship with God. The period of this process may seem as tough as isolation but that is where we learn and get better as Christians.
