Growing up, Mike had two siblings. His brother, Darius, is Senior Pastor of Christ Church in Fairfield, and his sister, Angelique, is a graduate of Stillman College.

McClure graduated from Minor High School and played collegiate football at the University of West Alabama, but he left after three years to pursue ministry.

McClure launched The Rock Church in 2009 at Miles Campus as part of the Royal Nation Movement college ministry, then moved the congregation to the L. R. Hall Auditorium in downtown Birmingham. The church bought the 12-acre Forestdale campus of the former West Birmingham Christian School in 2010. The church has had separate campuses in the historic Carver Theatre and at Center Point High School since 2012.
McClure’s first single as a vocalist, “BIG,” was released in January 2019 as the lead single from his debut album, Live Free. The song charted at #7 on Billboard magazine’s gospel digital sales chart and topped the magazine’s gospel airplay chart for ten weeks.
