This week, Pastor Michael Todd is teaching us the value of seeking the kingdom, and through a demonstration of “Hide and Seek,” we found out that it is not the same as looking. If you want the kingdom, God isn’t just going to give it to you; you have to search for it. The kingdom is gained through pursuit rather than proximity.
Reiterating what he taught last week, the kingdom of God is the only thing that Jesus preached about. In fact, Jesus’ first message to humanity was for man to repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand. The fact that Jesus made the kingdom a priority is something that the church should emulate. The church should learn to make the kingdom a priority as well. This is not just by saying it but by understanding it as well. Understanding the kingdom makes one unstoppable.
Pastor Mike took us through the book of Matthew 13:19 to show us how powerful understanding the kingdom is and why the devil is the greatest adversary we have in this aspect. There will always be opposition when you start learning and understanding the kingdom. He encouraged Christians that the best way is not to stop when you get opposition. This is because, it is the enemy’s desire to keep you ignorant. The kingdom of God requires resilience.
