Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts: Glory Triggers

Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts shares this sermon, which is titled “Glory Triggers”. The text for the message is from the book of Luke 24.  From the text we see that Jesus was crucified and resurrected. However, his resurrection has not spread widely, leaving his disciples in limbo. The disciples do not know exactly what to believe in. It happens that sometimes what God says and what you are experiencing have a disconnect.

In this message, Pastor Sarah defined a “trigger”. She said  it is something that affects your emotional state. It is often significantly by causing extreme overwhelm or distress. A trigger affects your ability to stay in the moment together.

Why Does God Allow Us To Get Triggered?

It  is not because he wants to remind us of what we went through. It is to remind us that we now have a testimony.

According to the message, God says not every trigger is meant to destroy you.  Some triggers are meant to deliver you; some triggers are meant to help you go back and get the pieces of yourself that you thought you would never get back again. God says some of these triggers are meant to help you heal.

Speaking further, Pastor Sarah cited Moses as an example. God made Moses go back to the place where he became triggered. The difference now is that Moses comes back with an encounter. It was this encounter that empowered him to be who God has called him to be.

Sarah added that some of us want to go back to the place where we experienced pain without an encounter. That’s why we get hurt and wounded again: because we haven’t been empowered to really deliver ourselves or others.

Ultimately, this is a message that you will enjoy
