Elevation Church shares this sermon by Pastor Steven Furtick titled “Been Here Before” where he asks you not to surrender in the middle of the struggle. In this message, Pastor Steven Furtick encourages us to hold fast to hope because God is with us in whatever we’re facing and that’s a promise we can count on.
He taught from the book of Deuteronomy chapter 9 and a little bit of Chapter 8 too. Steven Furtick congratulated people that you made it to the end of another year and congratulated people that they came to church the Sunday before Thanksgiving. He said that what that means is God will give you an automatic calorie deficit so it’s gonna be amazing because you’re going to eat everything you want at Thanksgiving and none of it is going to go to the fat cells. It’s all gonna go to places where it is going to produce a better physique.
Deuteronomy chapter 8 verse 15. God led you through the vast and Dreadful Wilderness, the thirsty and waterless land with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of Hard Rock, He gave you Manna to eat in the wilderness. Steven Furtick talked about you … what God did for you in seasons of your life that you didn’t see a way but he made a way.
He said we’ve all been in a Wilderness but we’ve seen God’s provision in those hard places so that’s what we’re talking about. He gave you Manna to eat in the wilderness … something your ancestors had never known. God had to ‘Humble test’ you so that in the end, it might go well with you. You may say to yourself ‘my power and strength have produced this wealth for me but remember the Lord your God for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth’ and so confirms His Covenant which He swore to your ancestors.
