“This is a season where we must protect our peace. I don’t want to get to January 1 and feel like I ran around like a frantic woman trying to make memories at any cost. Paul says in Philippians that peace is a guard for our hearts.
When I feel myself becoming wrapped up in things that will not matter, when I feel myself operating from a place of agitation, when my thoughts start to spiral, I am going to call myself back to peace. I am going to take a deep breath and remember all the things I have to be grateful for. I am going to put on worship music and I am going to experience the presence of God in my kitchen, in my car, in my workplace, waiting in line, wrapping presents.
The greatest gift I can give this season to those I love is a peaceful presence”
