“BUILT DIFFERENT
1 Peter 2:1-10
This week @StevenFurtick took us to 1 Peter to show us that God builds different. He built a nation from a barren woman. He sent a Savior through a virgin. And His disciples were fishermen. Here’s a few highlights from my notes…
-The first step to getting ready is to get RID. (vs 1)
-We cannot compare our real life process to someone else’s time lapse testimony. Peter’s transformation took 25 years!
-Sometimes God builds backwards. Get rid. Make room.
-God selects what man rejects. Jesus was rejected. What makes you think you wouldn’t be? (vs 7)
-We accept Christ in a moment but it can take years to accept ourselves.
-To accept Jesus and not myself is to miss the point of salvation altogether. YOU ALSO (vs 5).
-God’s kingdom is not built on prestige or personas or perfection. It’s built on ordinary people like me.
-Don’t reject what makes you special.
-Build by grace. When your faith runs out, you have a greater grace working in your life. What it’s built on determines what it can be destroyed by.
