Pope Francis’ health ‘progressively improving’

Pope Francis’ health is ‘progressively improving’ from respiratory Infection as he expresses gratitude over prayers from supporters.

The Holy See Press Office disclosed in a statement released on Thursday through Vatican News that the Holy Pontiff who has been hospitalized since yesterday over respiratory infection is responding to treatment. It stated also that Pope rested well the previous night and read some newspapers before resuming work after breakfast.

The statement further had it that the Pontiff gathered in prayer in a private Chapel in the hospital where he received the Eucharist. “Pope Francis rested well during the night.”  The Holy See press said in a statement updating journalists on the Holy Fathers’ health. “The clinical picture is progressively improving and the planned treatments continue.

This morning after breakfast, he read some newspapers and went back to work. ”Vatican spokesperson Matteo Bruni said. “Before lunch, he went to the little chapel of the private apartment where he gathered in prayer and received the Eucharist,” he added.

The 86-year-old Pontiff Francis, who also is one of the oldest popes in the history of the Catholic Church, has suffered a series of health issues recently reports CNN. The Holy Father for instance was seen sometimes using wheel chair and walking stick due to persistent knee pain.

Nevertheless, in an interview with Spanish news outlet ABC, Pope revealed that he had tendered his resignation letter if his health hinder him from performing his duties

Consequent to the news about Pope’s challenged health, individuals, and bodies expressed their concern. In acknowledgment, Pope took to his Twitter to express his gratitude for their closeness and prayers. “I am touched by the many messages received in these hours. And I express my gratitude for the closeness and prayer”. Pope wrote.
