Reacting to the devastation in Texas in 2021, Pastor John Gray’s wife took to Instagram to write:
“I am crushed to learn of the devastation in many places all over Texas. I’ve been texting and calling trying to check on my family, friends, Lakewood family, and our neighbors in Houston. The stories I am hearing are beyond imaginability.
The power has been off on our street varying off and on per our neighbors, rolling. All we can do is pray.
This isn’t a game or a joke. There are people who rely on power at home for their babies, chilled insulin, cpap machines, home ventilators and Oxygen… and so much more. People, animals…so many are dying from the freezing temperatures. Pipes are bursting, no water, and many stores are bare. What exactly was going on that officials were aware that this was coming and the proactivity was lacking??
I thank God for our @lakewoodchurch being a warming shelter, along with many other sites. We can’t get there yet, but we will. We won’t stop praying.”
