Rick Warren Invites Grieving Women To A Comforting Virtual Gathering

Rick Warren invites grieving women to a comforting Virtual gathering ‘Belle Donne’ in the spirit of Mother’s Day celebration.

Rick Warren, founding pastor of  Saddleback Church has taken to Instagram to invite all grieving women to a virtual event called ‘Belle Donne’, Italian word for ‘beautiful women’. The event will bring comfort to the women Warren regarded  as ‘grieving women.”

The ‘grieving women’ according to Warren include women who are suffering “Singleness, infertility, miscarriage, loss of a baby or a child, abortion, placing a child for adoption, loss of a mother or a grandmother.” He added also women who are in “estranged relationships.”

While beautiful women postulate Warren, are celebrated on Mother’s Day, grieving women feel less beautiful. He wrote in the Saturday Instagram post,

“Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the “Belle Donne”—the beautiful women in our lives. However, it can also leave women who have experienced grief and loss around motherhood feeling less than beautiful.

Grieving women seeking comfort however were urged by Pastor Rick Warren to participate in the event. Warren’s wife Kay Warren according to Warren will moderate the program.

“If you need comfort and a sacred space to honor your grief, Belle Donne: A VIRTUAL Gathering for Grieving Women with my wife, @kaywarren75, is for you,” he wrote.

He encouraged people also to watch the replay of the program which first aired in 2020 at www.KayWarren.com/BelleDonne.

Among the listed persons who will be “sharing words of comfort and encouragement from their lives” as listed by Warren are @meremusic, @priscillashirer, @dawnchere, @stevencurtischapman, @mbchap232, @latashamorrison, @jjhellermusic, and @saddlebackworship.

Mother’s Day is celebrated on different days in different parts of the world.  In the US, however, Mother’s Day is commemorated on the second Sunday in May, which consequently falls on May 14.
