Pastor Sheryl Brady was born in Detroit, Michigan, on April 17, 1960. However, Sheryl’s childhood was not without its difficulties. It was a childhood ridden with unfortunate events. The police once detained her after a brawl. She lost most of her family members at a very young age. Her father died of a heart attack, her sister died of cancer, and their mother died a few years ago.
At 15, Brady could not complete high school and was forced to drop out. Her respite came when she got to know Bishop T.D Jakes. A friend introduced Bishop T.D Jakes to Sheryl, and she agreed to go for one of his meetings. It was at that moment that her life took a new turn.
Sheryl never thought she was qualified to preach, she felt inadequate and unqualified because she has never been to any bible college.
Despite her inexperience, in 1999, after moving from Dallas to Durham, Sheryl became a preacher of the gospel at The River Church. This was new, challenging, and strange. Bishop T.D. Jakes sent for her ten years later when he needed a pastor to oversee the newly established Potter’s House in Texas. They prayed about it, and she felt led by the spirit to accept the offer, thus becoming a pastor there in April 2010.

Sheryl married Bishop Joby Brady when she was 17 years old, and the couple has been married for over 40 years. Lana, Tina, and Nina are the couple’s three daughters, and they have nine grandchildren! Lana Brady was born in 1978, and her twin sisters Tina and Nina Brady followed two years later, in 1980.
For the Bradys, the ministry is a family affair. All of their daughters and their spouses are active leaders in their ministry.
