Steven Furtick: Defending Your Soul

Today we present a new message from Pastor Steven Furtick, which is titled “Defending Your Soul”. The text for the message is from Proverb 25:28: “Like a city whose walls are broken through, so is a person who lacks self-control.”

Pastor Furtick teaches us in this message about defending our soul and we have to know that God is in control as Christians. Our soul is like a city and it has to be protected our mind, will and our emotions. Your spirit is perfect when Jesus saves you, he gives you the Holy Spirit and there is nothing wrong with the Holy spirit. The Holy Spirit doesn’t need upgrades, he does not have bugs and glitches. The truest part of you if you belong to Jesus, is light and truth and it is the incorruptible seed the word of God. When you are saved by God through the blood of Jesus Christ you have a new nature, when you do something crazy and say that you’re keeping it real that’s not true. The real you is the one that Jesus have saved is different from you that you remembered. But to really learn this new way of thinking requires that God does some works not in our spirit but in our soul.

If your soul is a city, how is the economy? Is it a lot of poverty, compassion, or fatigue? Do you have poverty of empathy? You can only see things how you can see them. If your soul is a city, God has given you charge over it. You are elected as mayor of the city of your soul to develop and defend what God has given you. If your soul is a city, you need to be careful about what’s going on inside. When you don’t have self-control, you are like a city with no walls and anything can happen anytime.
