Today we present a new message from Pastor Steven Furtick, which is titled “God Chose You! Will You?!”
Pastor Furtick teaches us in this message that God chose us, and we have to accept ourselves as well. Do you get a clear picture of what God created you to be? We can only be what God created us to be by spending time in his presence, communing with him, and putting his words in our hearts. To get the imprint of his image clearly in our minds, we have to worship God, and the only way we can do that is to see him for who he is. Seeing how Jesus treated people and wanting to become more of that, our goal is to be like Jesus. We can only be like Jesus by asking the Holy Spirit to make us more like him. We are created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. The true us is the new us, and the new us is the one we step toward as we step toward God’s picture of us. God’s picture of us is the true us, and we have to make a decision to choose it. The imaginary in Ephesians 4 is like putting on clothes.
We can’t choose the attitude of the people we’re going to have interaction with or what their priorities will be. We can choose the attitude we’re going to have every day, no matter what we encounter. We can reset our attitude if we happen to get it wrong at any time of the day or throughout our lives. We are created to be more like God, not to be God; we are given the ability to choose and be more like him, and only God can help us do it. We have the Holy Spirit to help us, teach us, and direct us in things that are right.
