Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Steven Furtick titled, “How To Recognize God’s Guidance In Real Time.”
Pastor Steven tells us that the Bible does not say the treasure was sitting in the field waiting to be discovered. The treasure was actually hidden beneath something that had to be dug through to recognize what had been there all along. When’s the last time you were blown away by the benefits of serving God through his forgiveness and love? When’s the last time you thanked God for your church?
We have to learn how to thank God for everything that he has done in our lives. Thanking God for the thing that you don’t like right now and trusting that God is going to use it in your future You can walk through your own field, your own life, as if you were a foreigner in the field? What would it look like for you? Go back through the things God has done for you and the things he is doing. It is easy to see what God did once you’re on the other side of it. We look at our lives as foreigners, and that’s when we understand that everything happened for a reason—there is a reason for the breakup and difficulties.
The trick is, can you recognize God’s guidance in real time? We have to pay attention and recognize when God is guiding us. Can you stand there in the field, surrounded by dirt, or are you going to say, “God, I don’t want the dirt; I want the treasure?” God, I don’t want the pain; I want the progress.”
We don’t want the discipline, but I do want the benefits of commitment. We have to be disciplined in order to get the benefit of commitment. We have to understand that God is always working in our lives, but we have to notice it in time.
