Steven Furtick: Waiting For God To Give Directions

Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Steven Furtick titled, “Waiting For God To Give Directions.”

Pastor Steven teaches us in this message that we should depend on God alone because everything we depend on that does not come from God will eventually dry up. Everything that is not God, even if it’s good, will eventually dry up. Even people who like you will get tired of you if you start needing them to meet needs that God is designed to meet. Sometimes in our lives, we are angry at people for not being there for us, but we have to know that they are not God. Some of the people with whom you are angry are good people, but they are not God.

When we depend on something that is not God, it becomes an idol. It’s about what happens when you decide to run to the resource and neglect the source. God is the source of everything, and for us to get the resources we need, our dependence should be on him. Pastor Steven said if we fill all our spare time with something else, like social media, how is God going to speak to us? If that becomes our first resource any time we want to escape our mind, then how can the peace of God guard our heart and our mind in Christ Jesus?

If you run to something that’s not God, you will run through it eventually. It will not sustain you, it will not last forever, and it can only give you so much. In the Bible, there’s been no rain in the land. Why? Because the people needed to repent and come back to God. Maybe you need to say, “You know, God, I’m experiencing a dryness in my life right now that indicates the fact that I have been replacing you with something that is not you.” We have to know that dryness is often a gift God uses to direct us. We are to be directed by God, and only he can help us with anything and everything in our lives.

This is a message you will enjoy.
