Steven Furtick: When Prayers Go Unanswered

Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Steven Furtick titled, “When Prayers Go Unanswered.” Pastor Furtick teaches us that maybe we’ve been going through some things and we’ve been asking God for an answer, but faith is the ability that helps us to believe in God and not worry when we are not seeing answers to our prayers.

Telling God what to do is not praying. Sometimes we pray to God for something that he does not answer, and it’s hard to continue praying. Our faith deteriorates when our expectations are not met, but we don’t have to lose hope in God. In the absence of an answer to our prayer, what do we allow to grow? Some Christians have lost hope, and some have gotten really mean. In the absence of an answer, we should not allow anger and disappointment to grow. We have to grow our faith in God more when we feel there is no answer to our prayers.

No matter what we are asking God for, we should have faith in him, and if there is an absence of faith, we should not let disappointment grow, but we should grow stronger in God’s word. It can be hard to still have faith when your prayers were not answered, but we should not let the devil come into our lives with disappointment and try to make us believe that God does not care about us. If we let the devil in, that’s when he can deteriorate our faith.

Our faith in God should grow no matter what, and we have to let the faith answer the questions. When we know that Jesus is seated on the throne, we can sleep through anything, meaning that we can survive any situation because he died to give us salvation. We should believe in God when we don’t see answers to our prayers.
