Biography
Natasha Tameika Cobbs was born on July 7, 1981 in Jesup, Georgia, to Bishop Fritz Cobbs (1954–2014) and Pastor Bertha Cobbs. She started leading worship at Jesup New Life Ministries, founded by her father. In 2016 Cobbs Leonard revealed that she had been diagnosed with depression in 2007.
In addition to being an unwavering advocate of empowerment and positivity, Leonard has achieved success as a writer, actress, businesswoman, and worship leader at The Purpose Place Church in South Carolina, where she shares co-pastoral duties with her husband, producer Kenneth Leonard, Jr.
There were rumors that she would die of a heart attack in the year 2022. The rumors, however, are untrue, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard is still very much alive. She recently posted adorable photos of her family on Instagram to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Career
Beginning in 2006, Cobbs Leonard embarked on a three-year tour of the country with Pastor William H. Murphy III of the dReam Center Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Since that time, she has been overseeing the Worship and Arts division and leading worship at the dReam Center. In the 2018 movie Sinners Wanted, she acted as herself.
The Purpose Place Church was established in 2019 by Cobbs and her husband, Kenneth, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where they both work as pastors.

In 2010 she released her debut solo album, Smile, on her own independent label. The EP, Grace, was released on February 5, 2013, thanks to EMI Gospel (now Motown Gospel), who were drawn in by the album. On the Hot Gospel Songs charts, the singles “Break Every Chain” and “For Your Glory” also peaked at No. 1.
Tasha Cobbs won her first Grammy at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in 2014 when she won Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance. At the 44th GMA Dove Awards, Cobbs also took home awards for Gospel Performance of the Year and Contemporary Gospel/Urban Song (and Album) Of The Year.
