Terri Savelle Foy: The #1 Habit For Financial Freedom

We bring you today’s message from Pastor Terri Savelle Foy, which is titled “ The #1 Habit For Financial Freedom.”

Pastor Terri teaches us in this message about financial freedom and having clear vision before our eyes. If you don’t have vision for your finances they’ll perish, you’ll just spend everything you make. Important question about your finances “Do you have 6 months of your monthly expenses saved in an emergency account? Sometimes we need a wake up call to realize that something has to change.

George Classen wrote a book called “The richest man in Babylon” this book became a worldwide bestseller sold millions of copies in every language around the world. It has one basic principle in the book “Pay yourself first” Save at least 10 percent of your income. If you can’t save 10% start with 1% and put it in savings account, instead of calling it “savings account” call it something exciting like “Funding my dream” or “my future wealth” “personal wealth” that motivate you to put something in there because if your “future wealth” has 700 bucks it’s not very comforting. Save something from every paycheck, start where you are. Don’t ever view something small as nothing at all, did you know that just $20 times 52 weeks in a year is over a thousand dollars. It make automatic to transfer the money weekly, monthly, quarterly but set it up so you have no excuse.

  • Write down your 7-10  goals down for the year: It gives you 42 percent greater probability of achieving it. 7 to 10 goals are easy to focus on and write them down in present tenses.
  • Be specific: example : I will save 1o thousand dollars by December 31.
  • Establish Deadline: Deadlines are motivating and they create this sense of urgency
  • Stretch Yourself out of your comfort zone: If all your goals are in your comfort zone they don’t motivate you, to think creatively and pray. Ask yourself “WHAT’S THE COOLEST THINGS THAT CAN HAPPEN THIS YEAR?”
  • Make Your goal visible and declare them all year long: make use of vision board.
  • Track Your Progress: it’s vitally important that you see where you are month to month in terms of your income.
