The Village Church is a Southern Baptist Church located in Dallas Texas. It was led by popular evangelical pastor, Matt Chandler till he stepped down in August 2022.
The church has a weekly attendance of 14,000, with an average growth of one thousand per year.
Beliefs
The doctrines of The Village Church otherwise known as the Statement of Faith is what they believe to be core elements of biblical teaching.
They have what is called the theological distinctive within The Village Church Statement of Faith which reflects what distinguishes The Village Church from other churches who would affirm the basic doctrines.
God: The belief in one God eternally existing as one essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God.
Revelation: God has made Himself known to the world in Jesus Christ, the Scriptures and creation.
Creation and Providence: God created the world from nothing and governs all things at all times in all places.
Humanity:Â All humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.
Sin:Â Sin has fractured all things, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation.
 Salvation: Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
The Church: The Church is the body of Christ sent into the world to shine forth the glory of God.
Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit’s gifts, which are evident in the New Testament, are still in use today in church life. The end of the New Testament or the passing of the final apostle did not put an end to these gifts.
Baptism by Immersion: The practice of baptism following water immersion conversion is a New Testament model. The purpose of immersion baptism is to represent the believer’s actual union with Christ in His death and resurrection through a symbolic act (Rom. 6:1-14).
Doctrine of Resurrection and Consummation of the Kingdom of God: In the future, Jesus will return to Earth to administer justice to both the living and the dead. .

The Village Church Pastors
The president of the Acts 29 Network and the lead teaching pastor at the Village Church, a Southern Baptist congregation in Flower Mound, Texas, is Matt Chandler (born June 20, 1974).
However, Pastor Matt Chandler stepped down on August 30th 2022 from his pastoral duties at the church due to an allegation of his relationship with another woman. Also, he stepped down as the president of the Acts 29 Network.
