The scripture is written for the people at Ephesus who want to become overcomers. In the scripture, one thing that Jesus wants us to know is that he is always in the congregation. He also tell us that he sees the toil and all the labor been done to keep the ministry going. Another thing Jesus pointed out is their perseverance and that they do not tolerate the evil men in their midst.
The commendation now turned to a criticism when Jesus tells them that they have left their first love. What this means is that you can be working Christian but you have left your first love. You can be doing the right stuff but in the wrong relationship. To Love God means to passionately pursue God’s pleasure. God is not complaining that you do not love him but you do not love him first. God cannot be second in your life.
whenever God is made second to anything, it is unacceptable. God is in a class of his own and will not play second fiddle to anyone or anything.
This is a message that will open your eyes.
