Court Denies Kidnapped Christian Woman’s Request To Return To Family:

A Christian woman who was abducted was denied her request to be returned to her family by a Pakistani court. According to the rights organization CLAAS-UK, the woman, Adeeba Amjad, was kidnapped on May 16 from her house by her former Muslim employer.

According to a statement from the U.K.-based organization that focuses on the plight of Christians in Pakistan and was sent to The Christian Post, Amjad, a young Christian teacher, was kidnapped from her home in Pak Colony, Lassi Road, Hub in the Baluchistan province by Muhammad Bashir, her former employer and a local businessman.

She was a teacher at a Bashir-owned local private school in Hub. Many instructors, including Adeeba, lost their employment as a result of financial issues brought on by the pandemic. Several impacted teachers were given alternate employment opportunities inside Bashir’s other companies.

Amjad quit her job as a teacher in 2022 after her parents arranged for her to get engaged to a Christian teen. She was kidnapped by Bashir months later.

Amjad’s father, Amjad Masih, was quoted as saying that a court has denied his daughter’s return home despite her confession statement about her abduction, where she expressed her desire to live with her parents.

The victim’s statement was tampered with by a female judge, CLAAS-UK said, adding that the judge, under questionable circumstances, declared her married and thus ineligible to return to her parents.

Amjad has been in contact with her family, stating that she fears for her life and her family’s safety, the group said.

Saeed argued that the international community must take a more active role in stopping their persecution, even if the Pakistani government and courts are aware of the problem.
