Fred Porter Reflects on Church’s Challenges and Growth

In a refreshing display of vulnerability, Kingdom Culture Church (KCC) pastor Fred Porter and his wife, Anna Porter, took to social media to share the growth and challenges encountered in leading their church in the past six months of assuming the role of senior pastors.

The past six months have seen significant growth for KCC, with Pastor Fred highlighting an increase in faith, community strength, and inspiring testimonies. The church is also progressing on a new facility project and boasts a vibrant worship team.

“Anna Porter and I have been running KCCAU for six months now,” a social media post titled Real Talk reads. “It’s been honesty so humbling seeing what the Lord has done in our church community. There is faith, numerical growth, strength, weekly testimonies, vision, miracles and momentum.”

“We are underway on our new facility project. kingdom culture worship is taking ground. The staff are amazing, we are seeing people equipped in their spiritual gifts, internships starting, college subject enrolments and we praise God and thank him and give him all the Glory.”

However, the post delves beyond the celebratory aspects of ministry. “The weight of running a church is real,” Pastor Fred acknowledges. The post details the struggles of self-doubt, balancing personal life with ministry commitments, and facing criticism.

The raw honesty extends to personal challenges, including the recent loss of their beloved dog Zane and the late-night moments of prayer, laughter, and tears with fellow leaders.

“I don’t say any of this to get pity,” Pastor Fred clarifies. “I just think sometimes it’s good to be honest about challenge. If we only celebrate the wins, we present an unrealistic viewpoint of local church ministry.”

The post concludes with a message of encouragement, referencing the words of Psalm 27 and reminding fellow leaders and Christians that they are not alone in facing these challenges.
