Pastor Peter Toggs Mother, Vera Florence Toganivalu Dies
Pastor Peter Toganivalu, better known as Peter Toggs, the son-in-law of prominent Hillsong Church founder Brian Houston, has announced the passing of his beloved mother, Vera Florence Toganivalu.
Florence Toganivalu passed away peacefully in the early morning of August 5th, at an undisclosed age. Toggs, who leads Parable Church in Sydney with his wife, Laura, shared the devastating news in a social media post. He expresses his deep sorrow and profound loss while also celebrating his mother’s life and her strong belief in God.
“My beautiful mum, Vera Florence Toganivalu, went to be with Jesus early this morning,” the post read. “I miss her so much. She fiercely loved her family & we adored her. She has been the strongest person I know. Her faith in the Lord has been unwavering, worshipping Him and seeking Him until the very end.”
While the family grieves this significant loss, they find solace in believing that Florence Toganivalu is now at peace in heaven, rejoicing in the “presence of our Saviour, healed & whole.”
Although the exact cause of Toganivalu’s demise was not mentioned, Peter’s belief in her being “healed and whole” hints at an underlying health challenge before her demise.
Additionally, in the days leading up to her passing, Peter’s mother-in-law, Bobbie Houston, publicly requested prayers for her to be “made well.”
“This is Vera. She is Willow, Jack and Lola’s beautiful other grandmother,” Bobbie wrote on social media. “I covet and ask for your prayers for Vera. She is surrendered to His love and providence, but we want and need her to be made well in Jesus Name. Thank you to those who will pray God’s perfect will upon her and the family.”
The news of Florence Toganivalu’s passing has sent shockwaves through the community, with an outpouring of condolences and tributes flooding social media platforms.
