One month shy of her new book, “The Power of Your Dream,” release, popular author and pastor Stephanie Ike opened up about the role dreams have played in her life, narrating her journey through pregnancy and why she dedicated her new book to her daughter.

In a podcast interview with Lisa Bilyeu on “Women of Impact,” pastor Ike shared how dreams have guided her since childhood, including a pivotal encounter with an angel at nine that led her to faith.

“Dream has always been a concept for me,” she explained, detailing how dreams have provided her with premonitions, specific details about future events, and even guidance on business decisions.

This divine connection to dreams took on a new meaning when Ike wrote her book, “The Power of Your Dream.” She explained that God showed her how to teach people how to get engaged with him through dreams.

The book holds particular significance for Pastor Ike due to a life-changing dream she experienced while pregnant with her daughter. Diagnosed with large fibroids that caused excruciating pain, doctors advised her to terminate the pregnancy.

“The book is dedicated to my daughter, and why that is special is because while I was pregnant with her, I found out that I had fibroids. And I never knew, and they got really big, and our doctor at the time said… You have to terminate the pregnancy and try again afterward,” she explained.

However, she clung to her faith. “The pain was excruciating,” she recalled. “[ I am] going to believe God with this.”

One night, after intense prayer, Ike had a vivid dream where Jesus assured her of her child’s safety. “He said to me, ‘No harm is going to come to your child,'” she recounted. Jesus then handed her a black leather bible, further solidifying her faith.

Ike also revealed that God had previously informed her she would have her first child at 32, and at the time of the pregnancy, she was 31. This further convinced her that everything would be alright.

Miraculously, a new doctor confirmed the baby’s viability despite the fibroids. Medical personnel even remarked on the ample space within the womb, enough for “two babies.”

“I don’t know what is going on, but there is enough room in there that two children can be growing in and be perfectly fine,” she recalled the medical personnel saying. “And I remember one time the doctor was like, This is a miracle,” she added. Ultimately, the pregnancy progressed smoothly, and last year, Ike delivered a healthy baby girl.

“So it is really precious to me because I have seen the power of dreams in my life and how those words shaped, navigated, brought warning, direction insight to my life,” she concluded. “And I’m excited to share that with the world.”
