Woman Evolve Announces WGU Scholarship Recipients
Woman Evolve, a movement led by Sarah Jakes Roberts, has announced the winners of its scholarship program, which was offered in partnership with Western Governors University (WGU).
This recognition comes on the heels of the successful Woman Evolve Conference 2024 which saw thousands of women gather at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
WGU, a pioneer in online and competency-based education, is aligned with Woman Evolve’s mission of empowering women. The scholarships aimed to provide financial support to conference attendees, enabling them to pursue their educational goals.
In the lead-up to the conference, Woman Evolve announced the partnership encouraging the Conference participants to apply.
Two deserving individuals, Angela Artis and Grayling McCovery, have been awarded scholarships to further their studies. Artis received a $4,500 degree scholarship, while McCovery was granted a leadership certification scholarship.
In a statement, Woman Evolve expressed its excitement for the recepients. “Today we’re taking a moment to celebrate some of our sisters at #WomanEvolve24 who chose to EMBRACE their futures with our partners at WGU,” they shared. “Today, we are excited to award two scholarships to: Angela Artis – $4,500 Degree Scholarship. Grayling McCovery – Leadership Certification Scholarship.”
While only two scholarships could be awarded, the organization expresses gratitude to all the women who applied for the scholarships. They also acknowledge that while not everyone could be selected, their commitment to personal growth is commendable. Woman Evolve further encourages all women to continue pursuing their dreams, emphasizing that they are always worth it.
