Biography
Anne Wilson was born in the Kentucky town of Lexington. Wilson was raised in a Christian environment and spent much of her childhood attending a Presbyterian church.
Her parents also introduced her to country music, particularly Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton songs. She is still a major Dolly fan, with her current favorite being Parton’s 1980 smash “9 to 5”.
She grew raised with her older brother, Jacob Wilson, and a sister. Unfortunately, her brother died in a car accident in 2017 when he was 23 years old.
Wilson began playing the piano at an early age, but she had never sung in public before her brother’s funeral. She grew up wanting to work for NASA since she was interested in astronomy and science.
However, Wilson has spent the previous three years improving her skills as a musician and writer, as well as learning the craft of performing professionally. She’s also relocated away from her family’s house, residing in Franklin, Tennessee, a Nashville suburb where Christian music stars like Amy Grant live.

Her first public performance was the outcome of necessity and intense grief. When her 23-year-old brother was killed in a vehicle crash, she played Hillsong’s “What a Beautiful Name” at his funeral. The powerful event cemented her determination to pursue a career in music, and after a video of the performance went viral, she was offered a record deal.
In late 2019, Anne Wilson signed a record deal with Capitol Christian Music Group.
Wilson’s debut single, “My Jesus,” was released on April 16, 2021. Wilson’s breakout hit tune, “My Jesus,” peaked at number one on both the Hot Christian Songs chart and the Christian Airplay chart. At the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, “My Jesus” was nominated for a Billboard Music Award for Top Christian Song.

Wilson’s “I Still Believe in Christmas” was released on October 29, 2021. On the Hot Christian Songs list, “I Still Believe in Christmas” peaked at number 15. Anne Wilson was voted the Top New Christian Artist of 2021 by Billboard.
On January 14, 2022, Wilson released the single “Sunday Sermons“. The song peaked at number five on the Hot Christian Songs chart. Anne Wilson released her debut studio album, My Jesus, on April 22, 2022, My Jesus debuted at number one on the Top Christian Albums chart, and number 68 on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States, after garnering 13,000 equivalent album units in sales in its first week.
