Born to the Honorable Bishop Winfield and First Lady Genevieve Francis Showell. She is the next to the youngest of 10 children. Her brother, Franklin C. Showell, is also an ordained Bishop.
Bishop Showell is a charismatic and brilliant speaker who works with many of the most vibrant ministries in America as a consultant for church reform. She organizes and leads conferences, workshops, and seminars on topics including leadership development, personal growth, spiritual formation, church growth, and the development of faith-based enterprises. Also, Bishop Showell is a well-known and highly sought-after woman of God due to her dramatic teaching and preaching of God’s Word.

Carolyn received a B.A. from Towson, Maryland’s Goucher College. She earned a Master of Divinity from the Union Theological Seminary in New York with a focus on psychology and theology as well as a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Carolina University of Theology.
Bishop Showell received a scholarship at the Columbia University School of Business in 1993. There, she pursued her study in nonprofit organization management.
The Harvard University Summer Leadership Institute awarded Dr. Showell a certificate in faith-based economic development in June 2000.
She came back as a member of the teaching faculty in 2001 and 2002. Since then, she has been chosen to serve on the steering committee of the Harvard Divinity School’s Black Alumni/ae Network.
Career
Bishop Showell is a Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. ordained minister.She led the organization’s leadership development arm, “the Sacred College,”.
In addition to being the dean of the Senior Shepard’s Track and serving on the Pastoral Board of the Joint College of Bishops, Bishop Showell is the executive pastor of First Apostolic Faith Church in Baltimore, Maryland. She was ordained as the Global United Fellowship’s first female bishop in 2014. Also, she has experience working as a psychometrist for the Baltimore City Schools and is a licensed Christian therapist.
She founded Transformed, Inc., a private Christian counseling practice and support service organization. She has completed the Advanced Studies Degree in Psychology at Loyola University and a second PhD program in Jewish and Biblical studies at Baltimore Hebrew University. Bishop Showell is currently a professor of Old Testament at Howard University (Washington, D.C.)
She has experience working as a program and special projects developer at the Johns Hopkins School of Business and Administration, a mental health expert, a psychometrist, and a consultant for AT&T in Racism and Cultural Diversity.
