Bishop Glen Staples, the senior pastor of Temple of Praise Church remarries at 70 after years of being a widower.
The 70 years old Proud father of five children who earlier this month disclosed his engagement and pre-wedding celebration with Dr. Sharon in an Instagram post reportedly married yesterday. Bishop T.D Jakes, the founding pastor of Potters House Church who attended the wedding with his wife Serita Jakes shared several photos and video coverage of the event. The wedding, judging from the video was a colorful one with many dignitaries in attendance.
It however was a joyous moment for Bishop Glen A. Staples who according to Jakes wasn’t expected to be alive four years ago. “Although, they didn’t expect him to live four years ago”, Jakes wrote, adding that they celebrated his marriage yesterday. Bishop Jakes congratulated the new couple and Temple of Praise Church who according to him “acquired a new First Lady!.” He wrote, “congratulations @bishopstaples and Dr. Sharon Harrington on the nuptial. Congratulations @thetempleofpraise on your newly acquired First lady! Enjoy the moment”.
Pastor Jakes who obviously was thrilled to witness his friend’s wedding noted also that the wedding reception held in the evening was attended by old and new friends. He described the event as an “Elegant evening after many struggles.” This refers to the many years of Staple’s loneliness as a widower and the several chronic diseases he had suffered over the years. Jakes noted that his friend had survived cancer and heart surgery. He went further to drop words of encouragement for those who may be passing through hard times as Staples did. “If you’re in a hard place, don’t give up!” he wrote.
