Cardinal Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, made a significant visit to the besieged Gaza Strip on Thursday, marking his first entry since October 7, 2023. Accompanied by Fra’ Alessandro de Franciscis, Grand Hospitaller of the Sovereign Order of Malta, and Fr. Gabriele Romanelli, the parish priest of Gaza, along with a small delegation, the Patriarch aimed to bring much-needed support and solidarity to the Christian community in Gaza.

The purpose of this visit, as stated by Patriarch Pizzaballa, was to offer a comforting embrace and show unwavering support to the Christians in the region. His mission was to understand firsthand the challenging conditions faced by the community and explore ways to provide meaningful assistance.
