Pastor Dollar teaches us in this message that it’s time for us to grow spiritually. We have to understand that we are expected to grow at some points in our lives, have a better attitude, and represent God in the right way. The word mature means to be fit for use; we are to ask ourselves if we are fit for use by God. We are to be fully qualified by improvement in all areas of our lives, spiritually and emotionally. Some of us as Christians are so comfortable with being spiritually immature that when certain things happen, we don’t know what to do about them.
All the intensity that the Holy Spirit will allow you to have is going to be very confrontive about what you say about your relationship with the Lord. It’s going to be very confronting about how it’s going to feel when you stand before Jesus. We want to talk about getting promotions and how to get that new house and some land, but we also have to know about our maturity in Christ. Most of us as Christians are not really interested in maturing, and yet if that doesn’t become the primary focus of your life, all those other things (promotions, houses, material things) are going to kind of be on hold because it requires spiritual maturity to be prepared for those things. It’s time to grow up as believers and live the life that the grace of God made available for us through the blood of Jesus.
