We bring you today’s message from Pastor Creflo Dollar, which is titled “The Truth Behind Mammon.” The text of the message is Luke 16:10: “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much, and he that is unjust in that which is least is unjust also in much.”
Pastor Dollar tells us that what Jesus said in the verse is that we’re going to learn a lot about our future based on how we handle money. As Christians, we must place our trust in God rather than the spirit of Mammon. Most money and riches in the world are under the influence of Mammon. Can we be trusted with money? That will determine if you’ll be trusted with whatever is true in life.
If someone cannot be trusted with just two dollars, there is no need to trust the person with a billion dollars. Jesus says you cannot serve two masters at the same time; you can’t serve God and Mammon at the same time. The issue isn’t one of money; it’s one of spirit. If money is the issue, God will never allow you to have it. God said, “I’ll give you the power to get the wealth,” because God knows that money is not the problem but the spirit behind it.
Mammon is a spirit that operates in this world that influences money, and we have to make the decision to serve the Spirit of God. When the Spirit of God influences your money, you are safe, and Mammon does not have control over you. Money ain’t wicked. The person who has it and the Spirit who governs the person determine whether money is wicked. Whatever influence is happening in your life is going to affect your money. We have to make a decision to allow God to influence our lives, which will influence our wealth.
Money is not the root of evil, but the love of it. The spirit of mammon always abandons you, and it’s always going to promise you things that only God can give you.
