Dominique Jones (a.k.a. DOE) was born in Washington State and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. DOE began singing with her family when she was a child. Growing up in the church, she felt predestined to follow in her family’s footsteps and sing Christian or gospel music, as both sides of her family were deeply involved in the gospel circuit.
Her parents (Dewitt Jones III and Kim Jones) had five children, and the family eventually formed the Christian gospel septet Forever Jones, which included her parents. DOE and her two sisters and two brothers were 16 years old when they recorded two albums on EMI Gospel: Get Ready in 2010 and Musical Revival in 2012. The albums were followed in 2014 by their self-released Prayer Tools, Vol. 1.
The group received numerous Stellar Award and Dove Award nominations, as well as two GRAMMY® Award nominations for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance.

Career
DOE took a chance in 2014 by pursuing a solo career. She got record deal offers but felt none were suited for her, so she continued to serve as a youth pastor in Dallas while working behind the scenes on her sound and message. DOE was featured in Jonathan McReynolds’ tune “Cycles” from his 2018 album Make Room as a result of his dedication. She later released two singles of her own, “Deepest Part of You” and “Reach”.
DOE’s debut album, a self-titled EP, is out today and includes the popular tune “Brighter.”
She co-wrote all of the EP’s tunes alongside her brothers Judah and Dewitt Jones, Jonathan McReynolds, and Dee Wilson. The EP, produced by award-winning producer Daryl Howell, is a rich, neo-soul, varied soundtrack to her life that she is excited to offer.
