Today marks a monumental milestone as Pastor E. Dewey Smith Jr. celebrates 36 years in ministry. As the senior pastor of House of Hope, Atlanta, Pastor Smith’s journey began at the tender age of 17 when he commenced his preaching ministry, and by 19, he had already stepped into his pastoral role.

Pastor Smith is not only a passionate and dedicated servant of God but also a highly educated and esteemed leader. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, demonstrating his early commitment to theological and academic excellence. He continued his education by graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Science degree from Amridge University in Montgomery, AL, and later earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH.

In recognition of his profound impact and exceptional preaching, Pastor Smith was inducted into the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Board of Preachers at Morehouse College as a “Distinguished Preacher.”
