Dr. Jack Hughes And Wife, Lisa, Celebrate 40 Years of Marriage
Dr. Jack Hughes, the lead pastor at Anchor Bible Church, recently celebrated a momentous occasion: 40 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Lisa. In a heartfelt post on social media, Dr. Hughes shared his deep gratitude for the blessings of their union, reflecting on the incredible journey they have shared together. “It was 40 years ago today I found a good thing and obtained favor from the Lord (Prov. 18:22),” he wrote. “I received a most precious and wonderful gift, a wife whose worth is far above jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her and he has no lack of gain (Prov. 31:10-11).”
Dr. Hughes emphasized that while their marriage started out strong, it has only grown richer and more fulfilling over the past four decades. He credits the strength of their relationship to God’s guidance, His all-sufficient Word, and the indwelling Holy Spirit that enables them to love each other as God instructs. “Marriage God’s way is truly incredible!” Dr. Hughes exclaimed, expressing his desire to continue growing in love and selflessness toward Lisa. “May I die to myself and love you better this next year, wifey! ”
Dr. Hughes grew up in the mountains of Idaho and later met Lisa while attending Boise State University. Since their marriage in 1984, they have been blessed with three grown children and are now proud grandparents of three.
With over 30 years of pastoral experience, Dr. Hughes is passionate about expository preaching, discipling men, and equipping the saints for the work of ministry. He holds a Master of Divinity degree in expository preaching from The Master’s Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in Escondido, CA.
