Futures Church: Belief, Service Time, Location And Pastors: Futures Church, originally Paradise Community Church, is an Assemblies of God-affiliated Pentecostal church having congregations in South Australia, Australia, and the southern United States. It was established in Adelaide in 1922.The Church officially changed their name to Futures Church on Easter Sunday 2023.
History
The Adelaide Assembly of God, founded in 1922 by British evangelist Smith Wigglesworth, relocated to Payneham and Main North East Road Klemzig after being purchased in 1944. Senior pastors Tom Evans and John and Beryl Jobe later became senior pastors.
Andrew Evans, the oldest son of Tom Evans, became the first non-founding senior pastor of Klemzig Assembly of God, leading the church to grow from 150 to over 2,000 attendees.
In 1982, Paradise Assembly of God relocated to Paradise, renaming it Paradise Community Church. The church established Paradise College of Ministries, a sister church, and Youth Alive Australia.
Planetshakers, a contemporary worship music band, was founded in 1997. The band’s youth movement grew under the leadership of Andrew Evans’s sons.
In the 2000s, Paradise Community Church grew to over 6,000 people, expanded to Elizabeth, West, and City, and became Australia’s fifth-largest church. In 2012, it changed its name to Influencers Church (Global).
In November 2022, Influencers Church celebrated their 100th anniversary year since foundation, and announced that as of February 2023, the church will be renamed Futures Church.
