Pastor Michael Todd has said that God told him that “Transformation Church Should Be Multi-Ethnic” when he became the Senior Pastor on February 1 2015. He took to Instagram to reveal this as he wrote:
One of the four distinct things that God told me before I became the lead pastor of @wearetransformation is that our church was to be MULTI-ETHNIC!
We were absolutely NOT when I became Lead-Pastor February 1, 2015
Being a young black leader that took over for an established older white leader, in a more progressive/traditional Penecostal Charismatic church in the middle of what was considered by many the “hood” of Tulsa——-let’s just say the odds were stacked against us to see MULTI-ETHNIC church gatherings actually happen in real life! (Shouldn’t be this way…but it is what it is!)
As God started to grow our ministry, something supernaturally began to happen as there was such an ethnically diverse group of people that started coming, serving, giving, and calling TC their church home!
I remember thinking …while driving through the parking lot after service one day and getting a glimpse of what heaven will be like… if MULTI-ETHNIC is really gonna be A way that we REPRESENT—- it can’t just be in the crowd or on the staff it has to be at the Top executive level of leadership!
About 10 years ago I met this on fire, Articulate, Anointed, funny white girl that preached the house down at an event. @mrs.natalietodd and I both looked at each other and said she is the bomb…🤯
We along with her awesome husband @williamsbell became friends and started doing life together… I’m talking pool parties, freedom encounters, ministering together at internship graduations, getting kicked out of fish-daddy’s for laughing so long and so loud at inappropriate jokes —-even being the realtor for our home!
God had been prepping us for this moment where we would be called to do full time ministry together! I am so Excited That time HAS Come!
In the middle of such a racially divisive moment in history…I am thankful that God’s word to me (MULTI-ETHNIC) ministry was not effected by the state of our culture… @amberlybell is God’s faithfulness and a fulfillment of the word God gave TC this year #STRONGER…and we are definitely stronger with AB on the Team!!!
