“I married a TV dad. One of those dads that make it seem like fatherhood is fun, clever, and easy.
He beats up the sofa when Ella stubs her toe. Finds a way to lead Kenzie back to joy when she’s feeling blue. He escapes with Isaiah on adventures that only they know. He goes deep sea diving into the world of politics and philosophy with Malachi. He creates attack plans with Teya “just in case” something comes our way. He sharpens the iron that is Ren with debates that make her wiser.
He does all of the things that TV dads do, but I know it’s not always easy even though it’s his pleasure to do. He withstands being misunderstood and does whatever is necessary to make sure we’re all well. If he were actually a TV dad the Golden Globes would’ve given him back to back awards for being the Best TV Dad ever. He’s not actually a TV dad though, he’s honestly even better.
He’s a real, present, loving, providing, protecting, forgiving, apologizing, comedian, comforting, nourishing dad. If all you ever aspired to be was a good dad you’ve accomplished that mission a million times over. Happy Father’s Day to the King of our castle and the joy of my heart. @toureroberts”
