James Turner Sermons Where Stood A Wall
Today we bring a message from Pastor James Turner of the Hillsong Church on the topic which is titled “Where Stood A Wall”.
Just like being stuck in an escape room, a lot of us feel stuck and are faced with a wall or walls. There may be a lot of walls in our lives and we may be feel that there is no getting. One thing this message will like to tell you is that where stood a wall, now stands a way.
In the book of Acts 12:1-17, we see the rescue of the Apostle Peter from prison by an angel of the Lord. The first thing we will pick from the story is that where once stood a wall, there is a way maker. Our God is a way maker, he makes way where there is none.
Before the story of Peter, the Church was doing pretty well till the new Emperor came on. This is also the story of a lot of people pre-pandemic. Here is a message for you, we serve a way maker. In the book of Isaiah 43:15-16, we find this assurance ““I am the LORD, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King.” Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters,” . Through the scriptures from the point of the Israelites leaving Egypt, he has always made a way for his children.
Another thing we will pick from this is that where sands a wall, stands an open heaven. When faced with a wall, there is no escape but there is one thing you can do and that is pray. When every other thing is shut and locked, there is always a line for escape and that is prayer. When we pray, no matter how high the walls are, Jesus will always come through for us when we pray.
We are encouraged to focus less on the wall and fix our eyes on Jesus.
