“Jesus Revolution” Makes Netflix’s 5 Best Christian Movie List.
The spiritual awakening film ‘Jesus Revolution,’ based on the life of Harvest Christian Fellowship senior pastor Greg Laurie, has been recognized by Netflix as one of the “5 best Christian Movies to watch.”
Based on Greg Laurie’s semi-autobiographical book, the movie narrates the tale of the Jesus movement, a nationwide spiritual awakening that occurred in the 1970s in the United States. The story specifically centers on Joel Courtney’s portrayal of a teenage Greg Laurie, who eventually joins a countercultural movement after meeting a charismatic street preacher and a struggling pastor.
While “Jesus Revolution” initially reached the top 10 Christian movies on Netflix upon its release in 2023, it recently received renewed attention.
In a recent update, however, Netflix Life, the streaming platform’s official blog, announced the inclusion of “Jesus Revolution” in its list of the “5 Best Christian Movies to Watch.” The update praised the movie’s religious theme and further encouraged viewers to try it.
“Are you in the mood to watch something inspiring, uplifting, and heartwarming?” the article asks. “Netflix has a plethora of movies based on or around Christianity available, some that are more on-the-nose and others that are just faith-based with moving themes and resonating religious values.”

Taking to social media to celebrate this recognition, Greg Laurie expressed gratitude to Netflix for recommending the movie.
