John Bevere Addresses Eclipse Fears, Encourages Faith Over Anxiety

With the highly anticipated solar eclipse of April 8th, 2024, approaching, best-selling author and popular conference speaker, John Bevere, is offering words of comfort and perspective for those who may be experiencing anxieties surrounding the event.

The eclipse, unique for its path across the United States forming an “X” shape, has sparked some concerns within the community. Bevere acknowledges these anxieties in a recent Instagram post but emphasizes the importance of faith in overcoming fear.

“Now this has caused some to become fearful, and I’d like to address that,” he shares. “I don’t want to see fear in your life.”

Bevere references Isaiah 8:11-14a, highlighting the concept of a reverent, holy awe towards God that can liberate individuals from other anxieties. He also urges readers to find solace in God and avoid succumbing to fear.

“What our church fathers have taught us for centuries is that when we walk in the fear (the reverent, holy awe) of God, it frees us from all other fears and anxieties,” he wrote.

The John Bevere Ministries founder further connects the scripture to his recently published book, “#TheAweOfGod,” which he believes equips readers to confront fear.

“This is why I wrote the book, #TheAweOfGod,” he explains. “I want the Word of God in your heart and mind so that you will be equipped to overcome any fear that oppresses you.”

The pastor acknowledges the public’s interest in the eclipse and provides a link to NASA’s website in his social media bio for those seeking more scientific information. However, his primary message focuses on spiritual well-being.

“Let’s see the people of God free from all fear and anxiety.”

Social media users have reacted to the minister’s message. While some appreciated the message of overcoming fear, others shared their thoughts on the book.

“I love how you hold up the word,” one user wrote. “Amen! I’m half way through The Awe of God, and it’s amazing,” another echoed.
