Joyce Meyer has given us a new message titled “Determination, Part 1,” where she teaches that God wants to help us be fulfilled and righteous.
Pastor Joyce teaches us in this message about determination and why it’s really important that we are focused. The thing that keeps us from having a good attitude is that our mind is feeding us all this junk about how badly we were treated, and we need to know how to resist the voice of the devil. First of all, we can’t do anything just by our own will apart from God helping us, so we’re not talking about “just toughen up and do it without God,” but we do have to apply our determination to do the things that God wants us to do. We have to know that we can do anything only with the help of God in our lives. Determination is really important in order for us to be able to do the right thing. It can be something that is in his word, or rather, something that he puts on our hearts. We have to be determined to keep a good attitude; if all the eyes go out, that’s good; that means you need it, and a good attitude no matter what is going on in your life is a challenge, but the more spiritually mature we are, the more we’re able to do that. Jesus never had a bad attitude, and he certainly had a lot more tests and trials than we do.
We have to look up to Jesus’s behavior, and also Joseph is a good example. A guy who started out being thrown in a pit by his brothers sold into slavery ended up going to prison for something that he didn’t do for 13 years, and yet he ended up in the palace, second in charge of all of Egypt. But what happened from the pit to the palace We all have a pit of some kind. We have something happen in our lives that hurts us. Someone hurts us. We have a disappointment. We have a loss. Something that’s intended to pull us down. You see, Satan knows that he is destined for the bottomless pit, and he wants to make sure that he can take as many of us with him as he possibly can. He doesn’t want you to enjoy your life; he wants you to live a pit existence.
