Pastor Joyce teaches us that God uses the world’s weak and foolish things to confound the wise and discard what the world would discard. We must not dismiss and disqualify ourselves, and we must not insult God by claiming that he cannot accept us.
How do we get our souls prepared by having the right mindset? In Colossians 3:1, Paul says, “Set your mind and keep it set on things that are above, not on things upon the earth.” We have to make up our minds that our worth and values are not in what we do but in who we are in Christ. As a believer, you have to know that God is with you and that you can do whatever you need to do through Christ. We can like our friends, but we don’t need them to survive; we need to understand that the only thing we cannot do without is God.
We need to be encouraged to start preparing our minds so that no matter what comes in life, we will stand strong for Jesus. Stand out, and you don’t need a bunch of cowardly friends; you need people who are real Christians. When you have the right friends who are Christians, you will encourage each other to do great things together. The Bible is full of people who were different, and they were willing to be different and be who they were created by God to be. The only people that can do great things are those that are willing to stand up, stand out, and pay a price. We must understand that God loves us and saved us through grace. No matter how bad things look, God will always have a person.
If you can stand up and pay the price without caring who likes it, God can use you to do something beyond the ordinary. We don’t have to be ordinary and should not care about anything average because we all have greatness inside of us if we are believers. We all have a deep desire to accomplish something extraordinary. The Devil tries to make us not believe that we are supernatural and that we have greatness inside of us.
