According to Pastor Joyce, anointing is the presence and power of God in your life. Many times we are anointed for certain things to do, and there is a general and a special anointing. The general anointing is given to us by God as believers in Christ, and the special anointing is given to us to do what God has designed us to do here on earth. When God calls you to do something, he’s going to equip and guide you. The anointing is very important, and everything comes to us through Jesus Christ for free because Jesus paid for it.
There are certain things that we can do that will hinder the anointing, and there are certain things that we can do that will increase the anointing. You can actually hinder the anointing in your life if you don’t understand what it is or how important it is. Speaking bad words and mistreating people will stymie the anointing on your life because God is very particular about how we treat his children. God does not like it when we mistreat and talk badly about other people. Spreading rumors or gossip is really one of the most dangerous things that we can do. We must become wiser and more fearful of how we treat and communicate with others. Having a reverential fear of mistreating people is the best decision we can make. When we have a bad day and mistreat someone, we have to go back and apologize.
Nobody is perfect, but repenting when you are wrong and being careful how you live help. Live to please God and be serious about it because that will increase your anointing. God is looking for people to use who will live their lives in such a way that they will have a strong influence on their lives and effect change. As believers, we are all anointed by God to do great things. Jesus did not died for us to be unhappy but for us to do great thing.
