Lakewood Church Reschedules Men’s Night
Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, has announced the rescheduled date for their annual Men’s Night event, which was postponed in May following the devastating tornado effect.
In May, the church, led by pastor Joel Osteen, announced an impromptu postponement of their Men’s Night after a powerful derecho storm ripped through Houston, causing widespread power outages and significant damage to homes. The storm, with winds reaching up to 100 mph, resulted in at least eight fatalities and many injuries.
Although there was no report of the storm affecting Lakewood Church or its members, the decision to postpone the men’s night was to focus on helping those affected by the storm.
The free event, now set for Friday, August 16th, at 7:30 CT, will feature powerful speakers and a festive tailgate party afterward.
Despite the initial delay, Lakewood Church is excited to welcome men to the rescheduled event. The evening will feature messages from prominent speakers, including Lakewood Church’s senior pastor Joel Osteen, Nick Nilson, Miles McPherson, Denny Duron, and Alexander Pappas.
Following the inspirational talks, attendees can enjoy a celebratory tailgate party with games and a full menu of delicious food.
“This Friday, we’re calling all the men to join us at Lakewood Men’s Night,” the church announced on social media. “Hear messages that hit home and stay for a tailgate party afterward with mini putt golf, arcade games, and a full menu of great eats.”
Lakewood Church emphasizes that the event is about helping men grow and become the person God intended them to be.
