Laura Toganivalu Sermons – A Strange And Foreign Land

Laura Toganivalu Sermons A Strange And Foreign Land

The Hillsong Church brings us a new message by Pastor Laura Toganivalu which is titled “A Strange And Foreign Land”.  The text for the message is from the book of Psalm 137.

The backdrop to the psalm is that the children of Israel had sinned against God and were taken into captivity in Babylon. They were grieving and mourning their fate and they felt ashamed. They wept over the blessings of their past and over the current captivity. They had lost hope and perspective.

However, they expressed resolve to stay faithful despite their circumstances. That is similar to some of the things we are going through including this pandemic. We have lost loved ones, friends, marriages, jobs and it is taking so much time. It feels like we are in a foreign land, it all feels strange.

The Israelite felt pressed in this foreign territory. When you get to a foreign you have to take caution so that you do not get disoriented. The wise thing to do is to recognize your vulnerability so that we will take care and not lose our perspective and value. When we lose visibility then the enemy is going to have a field day in our live.

Another thing to caution in a foreign land, is to misunderstand and be misunderstood. We tend to misunderstand someone’s pain, anger etc in a foreign land. The question now is “How” are we going to sing the Lord’s song in a strange land. How are we going to do the things we use to do in a changing world and landscape.

The answer is simple; let us have the resolve to remain Christ-like.

This is a message that you will love.
