Levi Lusko’s Daughter Heads for State Championship After Miraculous Recovery
Fresh Life Church pastor Levi Lusko has taken to social media to celebrate a double victory, with his eldest daughter Alivia Sky Lusko, not only qualifying for the state women’s tennis championships but also overcoming a grueling two-year recovery journey.
Two years ago, Alivia found herself sidelined by a herniated disc. The pain was so severe that even basic movement became a challenge. “Watching her suffer was heartbreaking,” the pastor wrote in an emotional post.
The family turned to their faith, seeking divine intervention for Alivia’s recovery. However, the path to healing wasn’t an instant one. As Lusko describes, God’s plan unfolded “slowly but surely.”
Alivia’s unwavering commitment to physical therapy played a crucial role. With dedication and the support of a skilled therapist, she gradually regained strength and mobility. “The love and prayers from so many” were also a source of strength, according to the pastor.
Throughout her recovery, however, Alivia’s character grew alongside her physical resilience. “We saw her grit develop and her humility and drive grow,” Lusko shared.
This past week, the community witnessed the culmination of Alivia’s journey. Not only did she finish the season with an impressive 17 wins and 5 losses, but she capped it off with a third-place finish at the divisional championships, claiming victory in the consolation bracket and securing a spot at the state competition. Her team even went on to win the divisional title!
“It was not the story we would have written,” the pastor acknowledges, “It was better.” He quotes the saying, “When God doesn’t give you gold, he intends to give you diamonds,” believing that Alivia’s strength and determination were forged in the fires of hardship.
