The text is taken from the book of John 15 where we see the analogy of how Christ creates peace. Jesus describes himself as the vine and God as the Vine Keeper. This means that he is able to properly take care of the vine. We, the believers are the branches of the vine. The implication is that Christ is the source of every good thing in our lives. As the brancjes all we have to do is to bear fruit.
Pastor Lucado tells us that by Clinging to christ, Christ is honored. How do you bear fruit? by holding on tightly to the vine. This means that you don’t really have to do anything to bear fruit, just abide in Christ.
