Boshoff was born Adam Johannes Jakobus Boshoff in Bloemfontein on December 30, 1964, and grew up there, attending the boys’ school Grey College. There is not much information about his parents or siblings.
At entered the ministry in 1986 at the age of 21. He proceeded to complete three years of bible study at his local church. He began a path of Christian service in his local church right away, which led to youth outreaches in his hometown and missionary travels to Africa.
Pastor Boschoff survived an accident with his wife and daughter in 2017.
