Pastor Beth Moore Chides Folks Expecting Her To Engage In Politicking

In a recent post, Pastor Beth Moore has chided folks who expect her to pick a side in the forthcoming US general elections. In her post on X, she talked about the lessons learned from the turbulent discourse of the 2016 election cycle. Pastore Beth highlighted how the last eight years have been a profound education in the successes and failures of public discourse on social media, particularly during culture wars. Unlike in 2016, when she was in a state of shock, Moore emphasized that she is no longer shocked by the online behavior of some individuals. Her response to negativity and baiting is clear: “you bait/I block.”

Beth Moore reaffirmed her commitment to her calling—encouraging people in their faith in Christ and love for the Scriptures. She aims to remind herself and others that the ultimate goal of discipleship is Christlikeness. Beyond faith, she expressed her desire to enjoy social media in a variety of ways: engaging with people, spreading love in Jesus’ name, sharing joy and hope, and indulging in her interests like basketball, book recommendations, recipes, and pictures of dogs.

Moore clarified that her identity is solely in Christ, not in political labels like liberal or conservative. She strives to view important decisions through the lens of what seems most Christlike, acknowledging that she doesn’t always get it right—just like everyone else.

As the upcoming election season approaches, Moore acknowledged that some might be disappointed if they were expecting a big political row from her. Instead, she is focused on self-care and maintaining her well-being, a stance that underscores her growth and the wisdom she has gained over the years.
