Pastor James Morris Celebrates Birthday and Graduation with Wife Bridgette
It is a double celebration for the Morris family at Gateway Church today as the church’s associate senior pastor, James Morris is not only celebrating his birthday but also his graduation with a master’s degree in practical theology from The King’s University alongside his wife, Bridgette.
In a heartwarming message shared online, Pastor Robert Morris, James’ father and founder of Gateway Church, expressed his immense pride in his son. “James, you’re an incredible son, husband, dad, friend, pastor, and man of God,” the message reads. “Today is extra special because not only do we get to celebrate the day you were born, we get to watch you and your wife, Bridgette, walk the stage and graduate with master’s degrees! Your dedication and hard work are inspiring. Your mom and I couldn’t be more proud of you, and we love you very much!”
James has demonstrated his devotion to serving the Lord through his journey at Gateway Church. He worked in maintenance when the church first opened its doors in 2000. He also worked as a stewardship department employee of the church.
His strong work ethic and leadership qualities were quickly recognized, leading him to take on greater responsibilities over the years. He eventually rose to the position of Executive Pastor, overseeing all Gateway ministries and campuses.
James was recommended by Pastor Robert Morris to the church’s elders in February 2022 as his successor due to his extraordinary leadership abilities and spiritual development. He received official confirmation as the future Senior Pastor of Gateway Church in September 2022 following a unanimous vote.
James and Bridgette have been married since 2009 and are proud parents to three children. The master’s degree pursuit by the pair shows their dedication to lifelong learning and desire to better prepare for ministry. His birthday and graduation are a cause for celebration for his family, and the entire Gateway Church community.
